The innovative tape technology of Alesis A-Dat had a revolutionary effect on the whole music industry in the early 90s. Suddenly amateur musicians were able to use digital recording as well as the well-paid artists. The A-Dat uses a S-VHS video tape to record eight digital tracks; linking two A-Dats results in 16 tracks, and so on ... it has even become very easy to exchange tapes this way ... much easier than in the days of analog 1/2'' or 1'' multi-track-tapes. Today there are more possibilities to record digital music. Hard disk recorders, the TASCAM system and others are probably doing the same thing, but this site is especially for you, the A-Dat owners worldwide ! |
This is basically why we created this website. A source for A-Dat owners worldwide, to search and find musicians you need, to exchange tapes and musical ideas. Make it grow, the power of international musicianship ! Working in my own home studio I often detected difficulties in finding the right musicians. A lead guitar was needed, a singer, or whatever. For that reason I thought there are surely many musicians worldwide looking for session partners who are offering their services on a place like this, also A-Dat owners. Now please go ahead and learn how we decided to setup this database of worldwide A-Dat owners and -musicians.
